The number of court decisions on the confiscation of cars with European license plates will increase, as some police officers may have gained access to customs databases.
This was reported to GolosUA by Viktor Medvid, director of the William invest expert consulting company.
"Currently, the situation is the same as it was before - they discharge fines... Formally, there is a statement by Groysman that there is no need to prosecute (Euro cars - ed.), but this is not an official announcement. The laws that existed are working, and the bills that have been adopted were adopted only in the first reading," the expert said.
According to V. Medved, there are nuances related to the fact that some police officers have gained access to customs databases (unconfirmed).
"This makes it possible to check for violations of customs legislation and issue appropriate fines, confiscate cars. As it was before, but only on a larger scale. The number of court decisions on car confiscation will also increase," he said.
As a reminder, the authorities are concerned about the situation with uncleared cars with European license plates and are ready to take tough measures. This was reported by Andriy Kryshchenko, Head of the Main Department of the National Police in Kyiv.
According to Kyiv's chief police officer, tough changes to legislation are needed to stabilize the situation in the country. He also said that if necessary, such cars could simply be removed from the streets.
