On October 8, speed control on the roads was resumed. This indicates that the measures envisaged in the law that was adopted earlier will come into effect.
Viktor Medvid, director of the William Invest Expert consulting company, told this in a commentary to GolosUA.
"It's hard to say to what extent this will be implemented, because we already have negative examples. For example, when billions were spent on election surveillance cameras, and then both cameras and equipment disappeared before the next election," the expert noted.
According to him, the situation with control surveillance cameras is similar; they were also introduced at one time, so it is difficult to say whether there will be a result or not.
"As for the previous stages, nothing has worked out in Ukraine so far, although this system exists all over the world. Of course, we need to automate everything, so this initiative can be called the right one, but it's hard to say how it will be handled, because no arguments have been provided yet. In particular, it is not known how many cameras will be installed and where. The fact that this system will start working on the 8th is also not a fact, because there are empty boxes in the places where cameras used to be," Medved summarized.
As reported, Ukraine resumed speed enforcement on October 8.
