Fines for quarantine violations in Ukraine should be smaller but more frequently used. The voice of Yu. Viktor Medvid

The Ukrainian government's policy of "adaptive quarantine" is justified.

Viktor Medvid, head of the consulting company William Invest Expert, told this at a press conference at VoiceUA.

"Today, the policy pursued by the Cabinet of Ministers is adequate, first of all, in conducting explanatory work to make people vigilant. The correct position is that, according to the law on sanitary and epidemiological measures, the introduction of quarantine in certain territories is regulated by a medical specialist. Currently, the trend of infections is worsening because people associate the simplification of quarantine with its complete elimination," Viktor Medvid said.

According to the expert, it is necessary to quarantine violation to fine less and more often.

"Fines and an increase in fines will do nothing, because the fines are already quite high - from UAH 17 to 51 thousand for individuals and from UAH 34 to 340 thousand for a company. Given the level of business income and the minimum wage, these are very high fines. It would be right to make the fine smaller, but to use it more. In this regard, the police are not working hard enough, ignoring many offenders who openly violate sanitary and hygienic rules," Viktor Medvid emphasized.
