Twice as much money was allocated for the reconstruction of the Shuliavskyi Bridge as needed, so it is possible that the repairs will be completed faster than scheduled.

"As for the financing of the reconstruction of the Shuliavskyi Bridge, a tender was held, and a company was selected to carry out the contract. The funding comes from the Kyiv city budget. Shulyavsky Bridge has long been in need of repair," the expert said.

According to Medved, as for the traffic jams that will form during the reconstruction of the bridge, any construction reduces the capacity, even though in this case there are detours. It would be more correct to solve this problem earlier.

"If the construction is financed sufficiently, the reconstruction will be completed in a year and a half. The amount of funding is very large - I think it is twice as much as it should be. So they should be able to do it in time, and they may even do it ahead of schedule, because it is in the interests of the contractors to master this before the government changes. They may even do it faster. However, there is an opinion that it could have been done more profitably, more efficiently and cheaper," he said.

On Saturday, August 18, starting at 6:00 a.m., the Shulyavsky overpass will be closed to allow for the removal of utility networks from the work zone and further construction work, the press service of the Kyiv City State Administration reports.

"Thus, at the intersection of Peremohy Avenue and Vadym Hetman Street (Shuliavskyi overpass), the exits from Vadym Hetman Street to Peremohy Avenue and the exit from Peremohy Avenue to Oleksandr Dovzhenko Street will be blocked," the statement said.
